Barbara has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2008, when she joined its Research Committee. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College with an AB in English literature, she spent the next ten years in Milan and London. Returning to Princeton, New Jersey, she worked in commercial real estate, finishing her career as a consultant to start-up biotechnology companies and as a founding member of the New Jersey BioScience Association. After moving to Santa Barbara in 1994, Barbara continued her interest in real estate by serving as vice president on the boards of the Hope Ranch Homeowner's Association and SURF Development Company, the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara's affordable housing development arm, whose mission is to provide housing to low income, elderly, and handicapped people. She continues to volunteer for the Women's Fund by serving on the Membership Committee.
