Joan Berliner Agress joined the Women’s Fund in 2016 and dove right into the organization as the first secretary of the Steering Committee. In 2017 she also joined the Research Committee. A retired corporate executive, Joan moved to Santa Barbara from Los Angeles in 2001. In LA, she sat on the boards of the American Cancer Society and the French-American Chamber of Commerce, on the advisory Committee of Love is Feeding Everyone, and chaired the board of the new nonprofit Break the Cycle. She has been a lay volunteer counselor for Cedars-Sinai’s Rape and Abuse Treatment Center. Before moving to LA, Joan was a marketing and PR consultant in Paris, France, working with both the US Department of Commerce and French businesses. Born in Washington, DC, she graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University and completed course work at the Sorbonne.
