Mary Garton has been a member of the Women’s Fund since 2006. She moved to Santa Barbara in 1961 and completed studies at Marymount School and Stanford University. Following graduation she left Santa Barbara to pursue a successful 30 year career as Vice President and Director of Documentation Services with Barclays Capital of Barclays Bank PLC. She returned to Santa Barbara in 2002, inspired by others to participate in community service. Garton is a member of the SBMA Women’s Board having served as President in 2009. She was also treasurer for the CAMA Women’s Board and ArtWalk of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Museum League and has served as treasurer for 10 years on the Board of The Cecilia Fund.Her active participation with the Women’s Fund began immediately upon joining, overseeing the membership database and SeeGee website. She served as Membership Co-chair from 2012-2013 and then as a member of the 2014 project team that developed the new website and database.
