Joining the Women's Fund and its Research Committee in 2018, Valerie welcomes the opportunity to explore local programs supporting women, children and families. She holds Harvard degrees in economics (AB) and law (JD) and has 35 years’ experience as a Washington, DC lawyer. As a partner with a global consulting firm for the last 20 years, Valerie focused on federal tax and fiduciary issues affecting retirement plan design and executive compensation. She also co-authored or edited 1,000+ articles for a global newsletter tracking legal developments in employee benefits. Since retiring to Santa Barbara in 2016, she has been an active member of the Santa Barbara Newcomers Club, organizing social and cultural events to help new residents strengthen ties with their community.
