2011-12 Recipient - Family Services Agency

Amount Awarded:
$ 80,000

Community Needs : Early Childhood Development, Family Support Services, Seniors, Youth Engagement K-12

This grant provided bilingual advocacy and case-management support to help 250 additional frail, isolated, low-income seniors obtain food and financial assistance; access critical health care; maintain housing; and live safely. The local population of poverty-level elderly is increasing rapidly and is living longer with diminishing resources available to support independent living. With this grant, FSA's case workers were able to double the number of local seniors for whom they could provide a comprehensive, coordinated system of care that maintains each person's maximum level of independence and personal dignity.
