Nancy has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2009. Having co-chaired the Research Committee for two years and the Steering Committee for three years, she is currently working on Special Projects. Born and raised in San Francisco, Nancy received a BA from U.C. Berkeley, an MA in English from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and a JD from Santa Clara University. She has lived in Santa Barbara for the past 32 years. An active member of the nonprofit community, Nancy has served on a number of boards with a focus on children and education including CALM, Future Leaders of America, and the CAL Parents' Fund. Beginning with her involvement in PTA and Site Council, Nancy went on to serve as a Santa Barbara School Board member for eight years, chairing the board for three years. She co-chaired the successful Measure V bond campaign in 2000 and has been on the steering committee of two more successful school bond and parcel tax campaigns. In addition, Nancy serves on the Planned Parenthood Action Fund Board and the Education Committee of the League of Women Voters.
