Sarah has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2005. She grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in journalism. During her 30-year career at AT&T, she served as President of the AT&T Foundation—the company's philanthropic arm—and as Chief Operating Officer for AT&T's 300-person global public relations division. She served on national nonprofit boards including the Advertising Council and the Council on Foundations. Since retiring and moving to Santa Barbara in 2000, Sarah has chaired several Women’s Fund committees: Research, Communications, Grantee Liaison as well as serving as the Chair of the Steering Committee for more than two years. She was a docent at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and is a sustainer of the Assistance League of Santa Barbara where she served on the board and headed several committees. In 2010, the Junior League of Santa Barbara named her their Woman of the Year.
