The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara is a volunteer-led collective donor group that enables women to combine our charitable donations and provides significant grants focused on the critical needs of women, children and families living in south Santa Barbara County.

The concept is simple. Each year:

WOMEN JOIN as individual members for $2,500 or more, or as part of a group totaling $2,500 or more.

WE IDENTIFY critical community issues to be researched.

WE RESEARCH local nonprofits addressing selected issues and create a ballot of possible grants for members to consider. The research process includes a thorough review of nonprofits' goals, financials, leadership, sustainability and measurable results.

WE VOTE on how to distribute the collected funds.

WE CELEBRATE the announcement of recipients at our Presentation of Grants event in the spring.

WE VISIT grantee sites in the fall and review mid-year and final reports to learn how Women's Fund grants are changing lives.

The Women's Fund of Santa Barbara is committed to building a large community of educated, strategic givers who are inspired to make lasting change in our community through the impact of collective giving.

They understood the strength of our program and the importance of attracting women to engineering. They believed in the future of the Academy and made our first large gift. Everything the DPEA has become we owe to the start we received from the Women's Fund.   -Amir Abo-Shaeer, Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy, 2008-09 Grant Recipient
