Electronic Health Record System Implementation

This grant was a lead gift in a $3.5M capital campaign to help fund the implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) in all SBNC clinics. As the "health safety net" for south SB County, SBNC provides free and sliding scale medical/dental services for the majority of the community's low-income, underserved, uninsured and homeless population. EHR is mandated by the federal government and is designed to improve patient care by providing accurate information to doctors about each patient's health history; enabling coordination of care among doctors, hospitals, labs and pharmacies; and empowering patients to access their records securely via the Internet.
